2026 QUILT SHOW Details, Information, & Must-Do’s for those participating
Important dates for your calendar: Quilt Entry deadline – December 12, 2025
Quilt Show set-up day (all hands on deck) – January 30, 2026 (8am) Quilt Show days – January 31 and February 1
We are looking forward to creating a beautiful quilt show for our local community and beyond! If this is your first time either entering a quilt or helping with show management and logistics, we at CCQ are so glad you’re with us! You will have a good time participating and will be inspired in your own quilt journey.
If you are wanting to help out, either in the pre-show preparations (which are happening now!), or during the three-day show process (Jan 30 - Feb 1), please come to the guild meetings this fall. They are held on the second Tuesday of each month (see Meeting information on the Home page of this website). Opportunities to help are described at the meetings, and you will get answers to all your questions! We would love for you to be involved! For some positions, sign-up sheets will be available.
If you want to enter one or more quilts (or handmade wearables) to be displayed in our show, please follow these steps:
Have ready the descriptive information about each item you are entering, such as the quilt name, size (height and width), the techniques used, any info about the design where you should give credit, historical information, etc.
Click on this link to begin entering your item – Entry Form Once you are finished submitting you will have the opportunity to enter another item if you wish. You may also enter another one on another day! After each submission you will receive a receipt sent to the email address you provided, showing the details you submitted. Keep in mind that all submissions must be entered by December 12, 2025. There is no entry fee for CCQ members.
Now, please be encouraged that this Entry Form is quite simply written and straightforward. You won’t find it difficult! But if this is a daunting task for you, please know we are here to help. Please call Ann at 209-480-6020. She or anyone on her team will be happy to help you enter your quilt(s) at the guild meetings, over the phone, or even at your home. We don’t want anyone excluded due to this new Entry Form.
Click on this link: Labels and Receipts to find a page of three pairs of Labels and Receipts. Print off as many of these sheets as needed for your entries. You will fill these out by hand. The Label needs to be whip-stitched onto the lower right corner of the quilt back. The Receipt needs to stay in your possession for the safe retrieval of your quilt at Quilt Show take down. If you do not have a printer, these sheets will be available from Ann Sweet at the guild program meetings this fall.
All quilts in our show are hung by sliding a metal rod through a sleeve that’s attached to the top back of your quilt. Click on this link: Quilt Sleeve Directions if you need an understanding of what a quilt sleeve is, how to make it, and how to sew it on your quilt.
Please do not neglect to send a photo (from your phone is fine) of each submitted quilt or wearable to [email protected]
QUILT JUDGING (optional) - A professional quilt judge will evaluate your quilt and provide feedback on various aspects of your workmanship and techniques. You will receive written notes with praise and areas for improvement. At the judge's discretion, your quilt may be moved to another category other than the one you designated on the Entry Form.
The judging fee is $20 per quilt. Two payment options are provided on the Entry Form. You may have as many quilts judged as you’d like!
Please note that if you are not a member of CCQ, space limitations may prevent your judged quilt from hanging in the show. Quilts to be judged must be delivered to Joyce Compton on Monday, January 26, 2026 before 3pm at: 916 Sylvan Meadows Drive Modesto, CA You will need to pick up your quilt at a time to be determined later in the week (before the show set-up day 1/30/2026)
